For 14 years we have been providing a FREE meal on Thanksgiving Day to the residents in the Hanford, Lemoore, Avenal and Armona areas. In 2014 we provided over 2,300 meals on Thanksgiving Day. We deliver meals to shut-ins and provide meals on site at the Lemoore Senior Citizens Center. We also make take outs available. This is all made possible by the donations received from individuals, businesses, churchs and service clubs. With special thanks to the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino. Over 100 volunteers come together each year to make this possible.
A great big thank you to the over 100 volunteers, who prepared, served and delivered a little over 2300 meals on Thanksgiving Day. The fourteenth annual Free Thanksgiving Community dinner held at the Lemoore Senior Citizens Center was a wonderful success thanks to the hard work and dedication of these volunteers. To all of those who helped from the cooks to the clean up crew; THANK YOU on behalf of the recipients of your efforts.
This event would not be possible without the support of the community. To all of those who donated food and money we extend wholehearted THANKS and we look forward to your continued support in the future. A special thanks to the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino for their special efforts to make this event a success.
All together, 1817 meals were provided to people in the Lemoore and Hanford areas. Of those, 629 were delivered to the homes of people that were shut-ins or had no transportation. An additional 282 were served at the Senior Citizens Center and 906 meals were take-outs. 300 meals were delivered to Avenal and 200 to Kettlemen City.
